Assistant Procurement Manager - Cabin Technology

Report to: Cabin Technology Procurement Manager

We are looking for a highly capable professional to join the Cabin Technology team.  Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the successful applicant will support the procurement activities on third-party products and services related to inflight entertainment and connectivity systems (hardware and software, excluding media content).

The successful applicant will implement Cathay Pacific procurement practices to ensure that we are sourcing and securing innovative, commercially viable, next-generation solutions to create an optimal passenger experience.

Furthermore, you will work closely with the Customer Experience and Engineering teams to define, source and support solutions in line with the category strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the management of all procurement activities in each stage of the process, including:
  • Category Management: provide direct inputs into formulating and implementing the procurement category strategy.
  • Spend Analysis: track, analyse and forecast the spend of each supplier in the category.
  • Market Research: develop an understanding of the supplier market, existing solution offerings, future market trends, product alternatives and new business models. Monitor the supply market that caters to our business needs.
  • Sourcing: lead end-to-end RFI, RFP, and RFQ process including tender issuance, pricing analysis, vendor proposal evaluation through to deal closure and business award.
  • Negotiations: engage in commercial and contract negotiations with suppliers in the context of new sourcing campaigns or existing supply agreements.
  • Supplier Management: establish supplier performance measurements and targets, monitor supplier performance and compliance, effectively manage relationships to encourage continuous improvements with existing suppliers and business development initiatives with potential new suppliers.
  • Provide support to the Procurement Manager and carry out any other relevant duties as required.

Requirements:

  • University degree, preferably in Business, Legal, Engineering or another relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a commercial role (procurement, contracting, sales/account management).
  • Existing knowledge of IFEC and/or IT solutions market (hardware, software development) or related technical category a distinct advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, contracting and supplier / third party management skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong business, commercial and financial acumen.
  • Analytical, strategic-thinking and innovation-driven.
  • Ability to deliver results with strong project management skills.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Willingness to travel overseas as necessary.
