The Programme Communications Manager is a key member of the Crew Management Programme team responsible for the design and execution of the programme’s employee communications and engagement strategy and objectives.

Working with a client base of office staff and flight and cabin crew communities across Cathay Pacific Group airlines – Cathay Pacific, Cathay Dragon and Air Hong Kong – the role holder will design and execute multi-channel, internal communications and engagement strategies that support the key programme objectives. In addition, the role holder will be required to influence a wide range of stakeholders in order to support the underlying objectives of the Crew Management Programme. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the communications and engagement strategy for the programme
  • Design a targeted communications and engagement plan that aligns with the needs of the programme and all key stakeholder groups
  • Help mitigate programme strategic risks and issues through effective internal communication and close collaboration with the Corporate Affairs department in relation to external matters
  • Collaborate closely with the Employee Relations and Industrial Relations teams to ensure communications activities support workplace relations objectives
  • Work with departmental communications leads to ensure alignment of messages and tactics
  • Seek out and develop new communication tools to enhance programme communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Create content for the Crew Management Programme and department-specific newsletters, management updates and briefings, internal social media including Yammer, engagement events, and other internal communications and engagement activities by working with, and sourcing news and information from, different stakeholders
  • Measure success against clear communications objectives
  • Ensure programme communication activities are aligned with the Corporate Affairs and People Communications teams


  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in a communications discipline, with experience in a large, multinational organisation
  • Significant experience designing and executing communications strategies, including in support of large-scale business transformation programmes
  • Ability to create compelling presentations, visuals and infographics
  • Experience designing and executing social media strategies and initiatives
  • Excellent writing and editing ability in English. Written and spoken Cantonese language skills would be an advantage
